President’s Address | Mr. Reynaldo Malik

Belize… our Jewel, my homeland! 8,867 sq. miles of rich, diverse and vibrant culture, where the waves of the Caribbean Sea gently kiss the sandy shores of Central America. Here, sustainability and conservation are not just buzz words, it is our way of life. As a destination, Belize is unrivaled. Of course, we have the prerequisite sun, sea and sand, that other tropical destinations offer; however, we are also home to some of the warmest and friendliest people you will ever meet. Belize also boasts the longest living Barrier Reef in the Western Hemisphere, the Great Blue Hole, ancient Maya sites, a lush rainforest and many marine, bird, wildlife and forest reserves.

The Belize Hotel Association’s membership includes the best beach resorts, jungle lodges, private islands and business-class hotels in the country. Located throughout the length and breadth of Belize, our members give you access to the most thrilling adventures, the tastiest of culinary delights and the most interesting blend of ethnic cultures you will find anywhere in the world.

I could go on and on about our tranquil haven, ideally nestled just south of Mexico on the Central American mainland, and I could talk endlessly about our history, our traditions, our food and our people, but I have an even better idea: come see for yourself! Consider this my personal invitation to visit Belize, where every sunrise brings adventure anew and every sunset punctuates new memories of a day well spent. Come dive the Great Blue Hole or snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef; climb El Castillo at Xunantunich or trek through the Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Reserve at dusk. Learn the history of how our country progressed from buccaneer and pirate settlement to highly sought-after tourism destination. Try some hudut, some caldo and our national dish, rice & beans with stewed chicken. Whatever you do, while you are here, your Belize experience is guaranteed to be UNBELIZEABLE!

See you in Belize soon!

From the President
