Belize Hotel Association embarks on “Only Voice” Campaign to select US Cities

As part of a revitalized and aggressive marketing strategy to engage the international travel market, The Belize Hotel Association (BHA) on October 26th, 2021 rolled out the first in a series of BELIZE Country Presentations with specially invited members of the Travel Trade Industry at the Little Belize Restaurant in Los Angeles, California.

 

The campaign engineered by our Director responsible for Public Relations, Reynaldo Malik of Muy’Ono Resorts, is intended to take Belize, the BHA, and its members directly to international industry partners.

 

“For many years we have been attending trade shows and other industry events, which have arguably been only somewhat successful.  One of the takeaways from those events is that in such settings, Belize competes with multiple destinations for the attention of the attendees. With almost the entire world re-opening for global travel almost simultaneously, the need for more creative and aggressive marketing strategies aimed at intensifying attention on our Jewel and its unique offerings is a must; this particular campaign seeks to create an environment where we (Belize) are the only voice in the room” – Malik.

 

The event which featured Belizean culinary and musical presentations, as well as an interactive question and answer session was hosted by Mrs. Alina Saldivar, President of the BHA, and our Director Ms. Roanne Badillo of Tropic Air who provided the agents with detailed presentations on activities, attractions, and properties in Belize.  Attendees included travel agencies and wholesalers as well as representatives from Copa and Alaska Airlines.

 

“The response in the room indicated that this method is the way forward. People are still wary of in-person events as was visibly evidenced at the recently attended Travel & Adventure Show in Santa Clara, California which we also attended, but the quality of engagement with this new initiative is a lot more effective. The buzz that is being generated in the international market about Belize is positive, and we have to take advantage of as many opportunities to keep up the momentum.  – echoed Mrs. Saldivar.

 

Attendees of the event had the opportunity to participate in a raffle of two complimentary round-trip tickets to Belize sponsored by Alaska Airlines.

The Belize Hotel Association (BHA) is a non-profit, non-government organization and Belize’s oldest private sector tourism organization. Its membership comprises primarily accommodation providers including hotels, resorts, lodges, condominiums, educational facilities and home-stays along with allied members including tour operators and ancillary businesses that service the hospitality industry.
